For a number of years, the Ellerslie Football and Cricket Clubs respectively, through the umbrella organization of the Ellerslie Sports Club Inc, have been in a progressive redevelopment of Michaels Ave Reserve. With Stage 1 (the artificial playing surfaces) and Stage 2 (the Lower Field resurfacing and floodlighting) now completed by Auckland Council, the increased field capacity generated by this ratepayer funded capital investment always envisaged the need for the replacement of the outdated, and inadequate sizing of the existing ablutions block, in order to cater for increased patronage of the fields by both male and female members.
In addition, this third stage also anticipated the relocation of the current clubrooms from the YMCA complex onto the top of the proposed new amenities level, in order to form a more visible “hub” and focal point for the delivery of future Football and Cricket activities , as well as providing opportunities for access to the meeting facilities by the wider community.
A two level building is to be built into the bank immediately to the south of the current amenities block, with egress from the upper level onto the existing carpark area and from the lower level onto the Lower Fields.
The complex will provide for the following:

Resource Consent has been granted for the project by Auckland Council. Developed Design documentation has been completed and now is with our Project Quantity Surveyor in order to obtain an updated , and more accurate Construction Estimate, due in late Feb. 2020. The intention is to then proceed into Detailed Design documentation for Building Consent, which we envisage lodging by late May 2020.
Previously, and based on Preliminary Design only, an independent Quantity Surveyor had formulated a Current Estimate for the design and construction of the proposed building at $5,690,000 ( including a 10% Contingency Sum).
To date, donations from our membership and community have raised $205,000, but we need a further $275,000 from our own resources to allow the design work required for building consent to be completed.
Firstly, thank you to those who have already supported our endeavours. Now, we would like to invite each of our past and present members, and their families or anyone else that believes in our vision to make a donation to this project by clicking on the link below. This link will explain in more detail various ways in which donations can be made to suit individual budgets.
The raising of this sum of $275,000 is the final milestone to achieve in order to push the construction button, which we are planning to do in Sept 2020.
